Words Have Power!

The power of words is truly amazing and is basically what we stand upon. We created The Just Bee Company from the energy generated by this realization. Our goal is to spread positivity, wellness, and strength using powerful messages and an each-one-teach-one or each-one-share with one approach.

Words are in and around our lives each and every day. Whether positive or negative; words have the power to evoke powerful thought processes, which can then lead to powerful actions.

Think for a minute about what the following words mean to you:

LOVE, KINDNESS, PEACE, BEAUTIFUL, EMPOWERED

Place each word in your mind. Then, close your eyes and allow images and thoughts to form.

How do these words make you feel? What actions might you want to take as these words move through your mind and permeate your being?

Just as these positive words hold strength and most likely generate positive feelings for many, other less than positive words can cause the opposite effect. There are words and messages around us each and every day that have the ability to bring up very powerful emotions and influence actions that can lead us down a very negative path. Be mindful and cautious of the words that you allow into your mind, space, and overall being.

Words reach us through many different channels, whether they are spoken from those around us, heard on television, wrapped within the melody of a song, or printed on signage. They may also be intentionally delivered by others in an effort to generate certain thoughts, emotions, and actions from a group of people or from most people. Take a moment to think about recent events that may have affected you or most people around you.

Now, take a moment to complete the following activities:

Activity 1: Write down any words, phrases, or messages that have come your way in recent days, possibly by talking to others, watching television, listening to the radio, reading news articles, etc. (Take notice of any repetitive words and messages being shared around you.)

Consider the following questions:

  1. Do you find that friends and family members mention these same words and messages and do they seem to control or lead conversations and discussions?
  2. Do you seem to hear these words and messages in many different places?
  3. Have these words and messages become consistent?
  4. Do these words and messages make you feel a certain way or encourage you to take certain actions?

Activity 2: Take a look at the following picture.

Imagine that you are walking in a city on a rainy afternoon. Observe the scene for a few minutes and allow your thoughts to form. What are your thoughts about this moment? How are you feeling?

How do your thoughts on this scenario compare to the following:

A. A friend tells you that it is miserable outside. It is a mess and they wish the rain would go away.

B. A news report informs you that it is a messy day in the city. The storm is one of the worst in recent history.

C. A beautiful sign on the wall reminds you that the rain comes to help things grow. The sun will shine again and every aspect of nature is beautiful.

How might these different scenarios and messages influence you, whether positively or negatively?

Did any one message affect or influence you more than the others? In what way?

Which words feel as if they offer you the most beneficial power?

The point of these activities is to not only help you recognize the power of words, but to also help you own your power. If you do not own your power; the power within can be owned by others, or it can own you if sparked in a certain way.

Words have the ability to influence our way of thinking, behaving, and overall way of being. Individual words and messages hold the power to bring forth our own power. Be mindful of the words of others, no matter how they are delivered or how they reach your space. Be mindful of thoughts and actions that are result of powerful communications and make sure that they are insights that truly resonate with your own ideals, morals, values, and truths.

When you speak, or when you are thinking; consider if your thoughts are truly your own. Consider if your words are being generated from your true essence, and not from other avenues that may exist to attack and control your spirit. Remember to always focus on words that give you the power to succeed. A great way to do this is to think and speak words of power each and every day with affirmations. There is definitely appreciation for the power of the written and spoken word, and again, always remember to own your power!
